2007 Survey

Hello,

Thank you, for your ongoing commitment to the mental health and substance abuse of Vermonters. Our goal at PrimariLink remains the same: ‘provide the right care, at the right time, and in the right setting, in a respectful and fiscally sound manner.’

What that means to us is:

  • Timely access to care for members
  • Referrals to providers who support best practice guidelines
  • Endorsing a clinically oriented review process
  • Providing a responsive and respectful service to members and providers

In an effort to partner with you and as part of our ongoing process to improve our services we are asking for your feedback. Please respond to the enclosed satisfaction survey by July 21st. As a ‘thank you’ for completing the survey, there are two free seats per Friday continuing education event at the Brattleboro Retreat. (Excluding the DBT and EMDR conferences). The seats are on a ‘first come first serve’ basis, so if you have a specific conference you would care to attend please fill out the bottom portion of the survey and return it to us. We will contact you and let you know if you have a slot. In addition, please let us know if there have been any changes in your practice information. (Question # 6 on the survey). One of the best things we can do is to match a member’s needs with a provider’s interest and expertise. The provider profile information you provide helps us to make appropriate referrals. Results of the survey will be returned to you by early fall.

General Information You Should Know About

    1. OTR access via Web Page

Web Page/OTR: You can access a copy of the OTR via the web (www.primarilink.org). The web page is designed to share information both current and historical, clinical criteria, policies, and most recently make our OTR form available for downloading into your own system for easier access and use. We are still exploring the option of submitting OTRs via the web. Recent HIPPA guidelines have caused us to look more carefully at this process. We will keep you posted on this project. In the meantime please visit the web page and tell us what you think about it. As always it is intended to be simple, useful and not flashy.

    2. Clinical Criteria Update

Clinical Criteria: We continue with the use of Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS and for children and adolescents CALOCUS) as well as the adolescent and adult versions of the American Society of Addiction Medicine Placement (ASAM) criteria. Neither has developed significant changes to their criteria in the past year. If there are changes that take place we will alert you to them. The criteria in the crosswalk fashion adapted by PrimariLink are available to providers either on the web page or via mailings. Please let us know if you need a copy.

    3. Network Development Update

We continue working with MVP to improve the network of providers available to Vermont clients. In the past several years we have reviewed over 250 questionnaires from providers seeking to join the network. Most of these individuals have had conversations with us about their clinical interests, likes and dislikes. We now have a data based of over 600 providers. When a member calls seeking care we can now better match their needs and geographic limitations with your skills and interests. Again, if there have been changes to your practice please add them to the survey under question # 6 and return to us.

Thank you for time and continued energies,

    James Adams, MD

    Frederick Engstrom, MD

    Peter Albert LICSW, Director

    Sherry Providence, RN Clinical Manager

    Nancy Overman, Intake Coordinator
